The Citadel Hockey Team WANTS YOU!
About The Citadel
The Citadel seeks to provide the best qualities of a military and disciplined environment to support the growth and development of character, physical fitness, and moral
and ethical principles, thereby preparing its students to meet the requirements of citizens and especially of leaders. From the first year, with the Fourth Class System,
through the senior year, the military environment requires additional duties and responsibilities not normally found on a college campus.
The military environment at The Citadel also attempts to draw out and cultivate such values as truth, honor, integrity, and courage. Qualities of proper behavior and etiquette
are stressed, and excellence in military bearing and appearance is taught. Whether in military or civilian life, the testimony of the value of this institution in service to the
nation, state, and local communities is prominent.

Equipment
Players will be issued game jerseys, pant shell, practice jerseys and socks. Game jerseys and pant shell must be turned in at the end of the season. Each player will also be provided with a helmet decal. All players must have a white helmet and navy and white gloves by the first game.
Practice Information
The Bulldogs practice once per week at the beautiful Carolina Ice Palace a state of the art two sheet rink in N. Charleston.
Freshmen will be able to get rides from upperclassman to attend practice. An informational meeting will be held in the first couple of weeks of school and the date and time of
this meeting will be posted on the website. Tryouts will be held around the first week in September.
Game Day
All games, with the exception of special tournaments are scheduled on the weekends to minimize the amount of missed classes. All home games are played at the Carolina Ice
Palace. For away games the team travels in personal vehicles and Citadel provided vans.
Dues
Since The Citadel provides the team with limited funding, players must pay dues each semester. The cost of dues changes from year to year but should be in the range of
$400 per semester which makes playing for The Citadel very cost effective. Players also are encouraged to seek out sponsorships which helps reduce dues.
